Main House
The main house includes a large and comfortable living, dining and kitchen area. This space, accented by architectural arches and limestone columns as well as custom tile flooring, was designed for relaxing and entertaining. So when you come home from a long day of sightseeing and shopping, you can take off your shoes, relax on the sofa and have a nice cold drink.
Just past this large area, you will find both a large guest bedroom with king size bed, walk-in closet, and connecting bath. Next to that is a small TV area where you can not only catch up on the world news but also connect with the wireless system and check your email, if the real world is calling.
Courtyard
Behind the main house is your lush central courtyard that features a cool, clean pool in a verdant tropical setting. Here you can escape the heat of the day and enjoy refreshing drinks, either in or by the pool.
Roof Top Terrace
The courtyard is also your access point to your own private roof top terrace where beverages and meals can be enjoyed while watching the sun set or the stars sparkle over the city. This large open area is perfect for entertaining, sun bathing, or just enjoying the cool night breeze in Merida.

Savoring the Flavors of the Yucatan
Many of today's top chefs from Rick Bayless to Martha Stewart are paying homage to Yucatan cooking. Just as Merida has been influenced by other cultures, so has its food.
Nectar, a five-star restaurant located on the northern end of the city (near the Plaza Fiesta shopping mall), serves amazing Yucatacan dishes with strong European influences. Other gay-popular choices: Trotter's, where steak, tapas and wine is a winning formula, and La Pigua, a fabulous seafood restaurant. La Pigua is only open for lunch during the week. On the weekends it is open for lunch and dinner.
Address
Casa Del Sol – The Yellow House Calle 74 # 489 x 57 y 59-A Merida, Yucatan, Mexico 97000
Los Almendros has several locations in Merida, though the best is between Calle 59 and 57. It offers great local food.
La Pigua has just opened a new restaurant “Agua Azul” located to the left of the Mayor’s office on the Zocalo. It is the same wonderful food we have come to expect from La Pigua at half the price. They are only open for lunch from11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A new favorite of locals and visitors is called La Recova. Located on Prolongación de Montejo, La Recova serves the best Argentinian steaks this side of Argentina.

What to do in Merida and the Yucatan
Merida is within 2 hours of numerous Mayan ruins. The most well know are Uxmal (1.5 hrs away by car), Chichen Itza (2 hrs), Dizibilchaltun (30 minutes). My personal favorites are Uxmal and Ek Balam (????). The beaches in the area are at Celestun (2hrs), Progreso (40 minutes), Cancun (3.5hrs), Tulum (5hrs), and Rio Lagartos( 6 hrs).
The Yucatan has wonderful colonial towns to visit and explore such as Izamal, Tizimin, and Valladolid. My favorite is Izamal which has a great church, Mayan ruins and a vibrant artist community. Other large cities near Merida are Cancun (3.5 hrs), Playa Del Carmen (4 hrs), Campeche (2 hrs) and Chetumal (6 hrs). My two favorite turn of the century and fully restored haciendas are Sotuta Peon, and Hacienda Petac. Sotuta Peon is a must see. Their driver will pick you up so that you can tour the Hacienda and spend the day there having lunch and swimming in an underground river known as a “cenote”.Check out our other websites:
